I love my car, but I kind of want to sell it

My 2013 WRX is amazing and I love her, but I've never really formed a connection to it. It's fast and comfortable and lovely and it does everything I ask of it, but I would rather have an 1970's MGB-GT and a 2008 Subaru Forester. I feel like I'm cheating on my car but just thinking about this, but if my first car ever comes back up for sale, I would gladly ditch my TurboPumpkin. Thoughts? Opinions? Am I making sense or just rambling to procrastinate writing my essay?

I know, I really like my TurboPumpkin, but it just doesn't have the same soul as my MGB-GT. Like I feel crazy saying this. The WRX is objectively better in almost every way. I think it also has to do with that whole "it's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow" thing.

If you've got the space, I say go for the two car system.

Well, you know, a car isn't like a pretty girl where you fall in love and get all googly-eyed overnight. It takes several years and tens of thousands of miles to get to know a car so well that you become one with it. There's no way that could have happened in a car as new as a '13 model. Give it some time.

The problems are that I don't really have the space, and I want a specific MGB-GT (my first car) that lives on the east coast and it's not for sale. I could conceivably get a different one, but that just adds another variable. But in general, the 2 car solution does sound more appealing to you?

True, I only have like 17,000 miles on her. That's a really good point, thanks for bringing that up.

Ah those are some difficult constraints unfortunately : (

Like you said though, I do think the two car solution is superior if it can be executed. To me, it seems like it would be a choice between

A) a single car thats practical, but fun to drive when you push it

B) one car that never lets you down, and one car that always puts a smile on your face, even when it's just sitting in the driveway.

Disclaimer: I've only ever had one car at a time, entirely paid for by my parents. I have no idea if that's what either of those situations is actually like.

You hit the nail on the head, thanks for the input. All of this is just hypothetical now, and I know that I'm exceptionally fortunate and I do enjoy my TurboPumpkin very much. Moreover, when I think about really modifying my WRX (Like spending 3 grand and making it stage 2), I can't help but think I'm just going to make my primary means of transportation less efficient and reliable and more likely to get myself in trouble and that tuning a little MGB-GT and having a normal car to depend on would be safer, better, and more fun.

Forget the MGB-GT, and go for a Triumph GT6. Then you have my blessing.

I get exactly why you'd feel that way about your pumpkin.
